Every Sunday we gather together as a whole church to encounter God through worship, the preaching of scripture, and sacraments. This is an important part of discipleship. Many would call this a “church service,” but we call this our Hub Gathering. We believe that regular participation in our Hub Gatherings is a vital to the life and health of Christians.

At the end of the second chapter of the book of Acts, we see a beautiful description of the early church:

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Hub Gatherings are one of our primary Rhythms that we practice at Hub City Church. Here is what you can expect on a Sunday morning:

What to Expect

Hub City Church is made up of ordinary people from all different backgrounds.  You don't need to be a Christian or even religious at all to attend our Gatherings or Hub Communities.  Everyone is welcome.  Most people dress pretty casually; wear whatever's comfortable.

Our worship service involves a rhythm of Revelation and Response.

We open with a time of Revelation which includes the reading of the Bible, songs, and a sermon designed to call our attention to who God is and what he is saying to us.

We close with a time of Response to God which includes reflection, singing, receiving communion*, and giving**.

*If you are a Christ follower, we encourage you to partake in communion by coming to the table, either by yourself or with your family and dipping the bread in the wine or juice.

**As a guest who does not yet call Hub City Church your church home, please do not feel obligated to give.

We use sermon-based curriculum meaning the kids are learning in the classroom what their parents are learning in “big church”. This helps families learn and grow together. Our morning is made up of various components including, Lesson Time, Free Play, and a rotating schedule of an Activity and a Craft Time. Every Sunday your child will be sent home with a Home Page. These pages are the main tools provided so that families can continue the sermon-based lessons with their child.  We will emphasize a “key verse” in the classroom for the day that will also be a part of the sermon. Every week we will send home discussion questions and the key verse for students and you to work on throughout the week. As an incentive for learning the key verse, students can receive stickers on a classroom chart. If parents can also recite the verse during check-in, the student can receive two stickers.

Mission Statement

At Hub City Kids, it is our mission to foster a culture of discipleship and worship. We believe in teaching children to love God through prayer and community and to support parents as they disciple their kids.

We are currently able to serve children from birth–3rd grade.

We value your children's safety. We have a secure check-in system in place and non staff adults are not allowed in the kid's area without a parent card. Thanks to InfantCPR we offer free First Aid and CPR classes to all of our Hub City Kids staff so there is always a trained emergency responder in the classroom with your child.
